Seat results -- SPD in red, CDU in black, Greens in green, FDP in yellow

The Hessen state election, 2003, was conducted on 2 February 2003, to elect members to the Landtag (state legislature) of Hessen.

Post-election

Roland Koch remained Prime Minister of a CDU government. With the CDU controlling a clear majority of seats, the FDP, which had been a coalition partner in the previous government, was no longer needed and went to opposition.
