Himantolophus paucifilosus is a species of footballfish, a type of anglerfish. The fish is bathypelagic and has been found at depths ranging from 100 to 1,540 metres (330 to 5,050 ft). It is endemic to the east central Atlantic Ocean.[1] They are founded from the areas off the coasts from the Cape Verde Islands down to Angola and on the other side off the coast of Brazil.
