Hiranmay Sen Gupta (born 1 August 1934) is a Bangladeshi physicist specialised in nuclear physics.[1] He has published around 200 research journal papers. He is a fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences since 1977.[2]

Early life and education

In 1963, Gupta obtained his Ph.D. in nuclear physics from University of London under the supervision of Joseph Rotblat.[2]

Career

Gupta served as the professor of physics at the University of Dhaka during 1955-2000. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Nuclear Physics Laboratory, University of Oxford during 1973 - 1976 and at the Department of Physics, University of Birmingham during 1981-1982. He was a senior associate at Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste during 1982-1992.[2]
