Hirasaki Shrine (枚聞神社, Hirasaki-jinja), also known as Hirakiki-jinja, is a Japanese Shinto shrine in Ibusuki, Kagoshima on the island of Kyushu.[1]
History
Hirasaki was the chief Shinto shrine (ichinomiya) of the old Satsuma Province. It serves today as one of the ichinomiya of Kagoshima Prefecture. [2] The kami enshrined is
- Amaterasu-ōmikami (天照大御神)[1]
In the system of ranked Shinto shrines, Watatsu was listed among the 3rd class of nationally significant shrines or Kokuhei Shōsha (国幣小社).[citation needed]
