Hiroshi Kawauchi

Hiroshi Kawauchi (川内 博史, Kawauchi Hiroshi, born November 2, 1961) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Kagoshima, Kagoshima and graduate of Waseda University, he joined Daiwa Bank in 1986. Leaving the private sector in 2000, he ran unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives as a member of Morihiro Hosokawa's Japan New Party. He ran again three years later as a member of the DPJ and was elected for the first time.
