Hajoi massacre (Bengali: হাজই গণহত্যা) refers to the massacre of Bengali Hindu refugee settlers from East Pakistan in Hajoi in Hojai district in the Indian state of Assam[when?].[1] More than hundred Bengali Hindus were killed in the massacre. Muslim were attacked Bengali Hindus and massacred. The incident started with a tiff between a photo shop owner and a customer.[2]
