Hypochaeris is a genus of plants in family Asteraceae. Many species are known as cat's ear. These are annual and perennial herbs generally bearing flower heads with yellow ray florets.

Hypochaeris contains somewhere between about 50 species, according to Stebbins (1971), up to about 100 species according to Tomb (1978), most of which are native to South America, but ranging to Eurasia and North Africa. Species include:
