I Wanna Be Free is a 1971 studio album by American country music singer-songwriter, Loretta Lynn.
This was Lynn's third studio album of 1971 and her second studio album as a solo artist of the year. The lead single was the title track. The song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Country Chart and also made the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 and #110 on the Billboard 200. The album's 11 tracks includes Lynn's self-penned "I Wanna Be Free" and hit singles from the year, including Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee", Sammi Smith's "Help Me Make It Through the Night", and Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden". The back cover liner notes are written by Teddy Wilburn.
