Ian Roger Payne (born 9 May 1958 in Kennington, London, England) is a former professional Cricketer.

He was educated at Emanuel School and began his career with Surrey in 1975 until 1984 and won The Cricket Society Wetherall Award for the Leading All-Rounder in English Schools Cricket in 1976. Payne played two seasons with Gloucestershire in 1985 and 1986, and then later Shropshire in 1994. He retired in 1997.

Payne was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm bowler. Payne now lives at home in Dolywern with his wife, Jools and three children.

He was recently forced out of retirement by his two eldest children, Naomi and Max, and is currently trying to cement a place in the Shropshire over-50s team.
