Ignacy Nowak (born 12 January 1949) is a Polish chess player who won the Polish Chess Championship in 1985. FIDE Master (1983).

Chess career

From 1971 to 1990 Ignacy Nowak twelve times participated in the Polish Chess Championship's finals. In 1985 in Gdynia he shared the first - third place, and then won additional tournament in Warsaw, a half point ahead of Jan Adamski.[1] In Polish Team Chess Championship Nowak represented the Poznań chess club and two times (1985, 1988) won the team event.[2] Also twice Nowak won Polish Blitz Championships (1973, 1987). Since 1999 he is not involved in serious chess tournaments.[3]
