Infantile apnea is a rare disease that is characterized by cessation of breathing in an infant. It may be related to some cases of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and can cause cyanosis and bradycardia. Infantile apnea can be caused by neurological problems or a physical problem in the airway.[1] In premature infants, it may be treated with caffeine.[2]
