Inspire Church is a Pentecostal Christian church affiliated with Australian Christian Churches, the Assemblies of God in Australia. It is located in Hoxton Park, in the City of Liverpool, in the Greater Western Sydney region, Australia. The main building consists of an auditorium which can seat approximately 1,000 people. The church also has a chapel, cafeteria and a gymnasium. The senior pastors are John and Carol McMartin.
History
The church was founded in 1982, with new Pastors John and Carol McMartin as Liverpool Christian Life Centre.[1][2]
In 2007, the attendance is 4,500 people.[3]
On August 31, 2008 Liverpool Christian Life Centre changed their name to Inspire Church.
In 2012, the attendance is 5,000 people, making Inspire Church one of the largest ACC Churches in Australia. [4]
Pastors
John and Carol McMartin are the Senior Pastors of Inspire Church.[5] They hold weekly services across Sydney, and deliver a weekly television broadcast, focusing on serving the Church's multi-generational and multi-cultural congregations. John’s father, William McMartin, was also one of the first Assemblied of God Pastors in Australia. John and Carol have three children, and six grandchildren.
The McMartins have been Senior Pastors of Inspire Church for 31 years, during which time the church has grown from 7 members in 1981 to over 6,000 members.
John McMartin is also the State President of the Australian Christian Churches the Assemblies of God in New South Wales, an organisation that oversees 350 of the State's churches, as well as serving on the National Executive of the Australian Christian Churches, and the Assemblies of God in Australia (an organisation that oversees 1,300 Churches in Australia).
John is also involved with organizations that include LeSEA Feed the Hungry, the ACC World Relief, and Mercy International, an organization that builds and operates schools and orphanages in Thailand for children and babies affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.
Conferences
iKonf
iKonf is 1 day of action-packed fun for primary school aged children held in October. It’s a day for them to encounter God in a way they understand and where each child gets the opportunity to be involved in fun activities and workshops with the aim of helping them discover their gifts and talents. Featured at iKonf are loads of prize giveaways, games, music, inspiring teaching + a VIP lunch for Children’s Pastors and leaders. Hosted by Ps Steve Roberts
Intensifire
Intensifire is one of Australia’s premier Youth and Young Adult conferences. In over a decade, Intensifire has gained huge momentum in seeing the lives of young people across the nation impacted and changed for the better. Intensifire is a 3-day conference held in the Easter school holidays. Various international guest speakers attend each year. Ps Brendan McMartin is the director Of Intensifire Conference
Be Free
Be Free Conference is designed to be a day where women of all ages and backgrounds can come and relax, have fun, laugh, be inspired and most of all encounter Jesus! The desire of Inspire Church is to see each woman walk away with a greater sense of freedom, knowing who they in Christ and feeling a deeper connection with like-minded women. Be Free is held in August each year. Hosted by Ps Melissa McMartin
Inspire Community
Inspire Community, (formerly Vantage Community Services) is a non-profit organisation.[6] The C.E.O. of Inspire Community is Mike Meyer. Inspire Community Services' centers are places that people can go to for help, support and also counseling.
Inspire College
Inspire College, (formerly Sydney Training Institute) is an initiative of Inspire Church, located 40 minutes from Sydney CBD.[7] The aim of the institute is to equip leaders for an effective life of service in the church. The College is registered with VETAB and its courses are nationally accredited.
Inspire TV
"Inspire Church with John McMartin" is a 1/2 hour weekly television program which has been on air since 2006. Inspire TV is dedicated to spreading the word of God into Australian homes and to maintain a strong digital presence. Inspire TV is currently broadcast in Sydney on TVS and on a national broadcast level through the Australia Christian Channel. This channel reaches a potential audience of approximately 2.2 million homes, circulating nationally on every major pay television network.
In 2014, the program has been launched with new featured Inspire Church music and are looking to create more first-class music clips.
