Isaac Cobo Displas

Isaac Cobo Displas (born in 1975) is a Spanish architect and academic at the University of East London.[1][2][3]

Education

In 1996, Displas enrolled in the Industrial Design Engineering program at Elisava Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona to become a product designer.[1]

In 2003, he started formal architectural studies at the Architectural Association School of Architecture.[1][2] He relocated to the University of East London in 2005, under the guidance of the architect Peter Salter. Under the mentorship of Mark Hayduk, Displas completed his master’s degree.[1]

Career

During the early 2000s, Displas contributed to projects at Murray John Architects in London.[4][failed verification] He played a role in the restoration of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in King's Cross, while serving as Creative Director at the Mahattan Loft Corporation (MLC).[5][failed verification] In 2008, he co-founded Cocoarchitects alongside Daniel Coll, focusing on the blend of ecological consciousness with creativity, often expressed through computer-generated analysis and visualizations.[6][failed verification][1]

Displas has been serving as a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design at the University of East London since 2009.[1] His pedagogical focus centers around fundamental architectural principles, with a focus on environmental consciousness, spatial ambiance, and the significance of lighting and shadow.[1]
