Career

Plymouth Argyle

Born in Newquay, Cornwall,[1] Vassell made his professional debut on the opening day of the 2011–12 season, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute for Tom Hitchcock in a 1–1 draw with Shrewsbury Town at the New Meadow.[3] He joined Truro City on a work experience loan in March 2012 until the end of the season,[4][5] where he made six appearances for the club in the Conference South.[6] Vassell moved to Bideford on loan in August 2012 for three months.[7] He played in two cup games for Plymouth in 2013–14 before joining Weymouth on loan until the end of the season in March 2014.[8]

Truro City

After his release from Plymouth at the end of the 2013–14 season, Vassell returned to Truro City, and after scoring two goals in a 5–0 friendly win over Godolphin Atlantic on 11 July 2014, he signed for the club the following day.[9]

Luton Town

Vassell signed a one-year contract with League Two club Luton Town on 23 July 2016, following a successful trial spell.[10] He made his Luton debut as a substitute in a 3–1 win at home to newly relegated Championship club Aston Villa in the EFL Cup first round on 10 August.[11] Vassell scored his first goal for the club in a 2–1 win away at Morecambe on 19 November.[12]
