Jacyn Heavens

Jacyn Heavens (born June 7, 1983) is an entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Epos Now, with a company valuation of approximately $1.5bn as of 2024.[1]

Biography[edit]

In June 2010, Jacyn Heavens opened a bar in Norwich with a friend and became the Managing Director of Rocks Music Bar & Lounge, a position he held until June 2012. His lack of small business experience led him to create Epos Now.[2]

In June 2011, Jacyn Heavens founded Epos Now, a company providing point-of-sale and Embedded finance capabilities.[3]

The company uses AI to help small businesses grow and compete with larger enterprises.[4]

in June 2015, Epos Now was the UK’s 13th fastest-growing tech company in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100, growing 156% that year to revenues of £5.2m.[5]

in 2016, Epos Now was awarded a Queens award for enterprise in innovation[6]

In 2016, Heavens was named Great British Retail Entrepreneur of the Year by Natwest's Great British Entrepreneur Awards,[7] and recognised as the East of England local champion in 2017.[8] In the same year, he got the Judges Special Award during the 2017 Enterprise Awards.[9]

From November 2017 to June 2021, Heavens served as the Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of East Anglia.[10]

In November 2018, Jacyn was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia for his contributions to the community.[11]

In 2019 - Epos Now won 'Best Payments, Finance or Billing Solution' in The Global Cloud Awards.[12]
