Janja Garnbret
Janja Garnbret (born 1999) is a Slovenian rock climber who has won multiple lead climbing and bouldering events. In 2015, her first year of eligibility for the IFSC Climbing World Cup, she placed fourth in the overall lead climbing standings.[1] In 2016, she has won the first three lead climbing events in Chamonix, Villars, and Briançon, and she placed second behind Shauna Coxsey in the bouldering world cup in Innsbruck.[2] She also placed first in a 2015 Swedish exhibition bouldering event, La Sportiva Legends Only, ahead of Coxsey, Anna Stöhr, and Juliane Wurm.[3]
On outdoor sport climbing routes, Garnbret has onsighted Avatar (5.13d) and climbed Scrat (5.14b) in Croatia.[4] She has also climbed multiple 8b to 8c+ rated routes at the Slovenian training camp in Kotečnik.[5]
