Joe Terrell Wood, Sr. (born October 23, 1922) was an American politician in the state of Georgia. Wood is an alumnus of the University of Georgia and worked in the field of general insurance. He was a member of the firm Turner Wood & Smith Insurance, in Gainesville.[1][2] He served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1966 to 1989.[3] He was married to Helen Thrasher.[4]
