Joe Taruc (born September 17, 1947 as Jose Malgapo Taruc, Jr.) is a news anchor currently worked at DZRH in the Philippines. He is one of the top-rating news anchors today on radio. Aside from being a news anchor, Taruc is also the Senior-Vice President of the station.
Currently, he is news anchor of DZRH Pangunahing Balita and as well as Damdaming Bayan, one of the longest-running public affairs program on the station.[1] Taruc interviews with people in the politics, mostly the president. He also the pioneer of ABS-CBN DZAQ Radyo Patrol (predecessor of DZMM) before the Martial Law regime. Then in the 1980s, Taruc joins DZBB Bisig Bayan (now Super Radyo DZBB) until his transfer to DZRH in 1991, which he became the station manager and newscaster.
Aside from radio, Taruc had been worked in films especially with Philip Salvador during the 1980s.
Taruc has 3 sons and a daughter, including i-Witness co-host Jay Taruc.[2]
