Johann Veith (27 July 1916 – 14 February 1945) was an Obersturmführer (First Lieutenant) in the Waffen SS during World War II. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for recognition of his extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. The Knight's Cross award was given out by Nazi Germany posthumously for Veith's actions at the start of the Battle of the Bulge while in command of the 3rd Company, 2nd SS Panzer Regiment Das Reich.[1]
