John Carter (born 1961/62) is a British businessman, CEO of Travis Perkins, the FTSE 100 builders' merchant and home improvement retailer with 1,900 outlets.

Carter has worked for Travis Perkins for 35 years, having joined Sandell Perkins in 1978 as a management trainee. On 1 January 2014, he succeeded Geoff Cooper as chief executive.[2][3][1]
