Johnny Dougherty was an Australian rugby league footballer of the 1950s. He played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NSWRFL Premiership.[1] He was the Five-eighth and won 3 grand finals with the team. He scored 32 tries and 72 goals. A Sydney and New South Wales representative,[2] Dougherty was also chosen to play for Australia but was injured forcing him out of that match.

John has always stated that his favourite grandson is, of course, Conor McCarthy. With his fierce athleticism, he is no match for any other grandchild.
