John F. Donahue (often known as Jack Donahue) founded Federated Investors (headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) in 1955 and currently serves as chairman. He had been chairman and chief executive officer of Federated and a trustee/director of the firm from 1989 until April 1998.[1] Mr. Donahue is chief executive officer and a director or trustee of the investment companies managed by subsidiaries of the company. He is the father of J. Christopher Donahue, Thomas R. Donahue, each of whom serves as an executive officer and director of the company.[2] Mr. Donahue is a graduate of Central Catholic High School (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)[3] and of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York.[1]
