Joseph "Joe" Veleno (born January 13, 2000) is a Canadian ice hockey player currently playing for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL.

Playing Career

On June 4, 2015, Veleno became the first player from Quebec to be granted “exceptional status” to allowed him to play as a 15-year-old in major junior hockey,[1] and on June 7, 2015 he was taken 1st overall at QMJHL draft by the Saint John Sea Dogs.[2]

To date only four other players, John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad, Connor McDavid and Sean Day, have been granted the same status by Hockey Canada.[3]
