Jun Jie Calvin Quek is a Singapore sprinter who specialises in the 400m and 400m hurdles. As a schoolboy, Quek was a perennial medallist at National Schools in both events.[2] He first broke the 400m hurdles national record in February 2022 with a time of 51.73s at a Southeast Asian Games Trial.[3] Subsequently, at the SEA Games in Hanoi, he rewrote his national record with a time of 51.19s and became the first Singaporean to win a SEA Games medal in the event since 1969.[4] At the 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh, he ran 50.75s to secure a bronze again.[5] At the same competition, he was part of the 4x400m quartet that broke the national record.[6] In the World University Games, he ran 50.43s to rewrite his 400m hurdles national record.[1] Other competitions Quek had previously competed in include the 2022 Commonwealth Games[7] and 2022 Asian Games.[1]
