Kaberamaido is a town in Eastern Uganda. It is the main municipal, administrative and commercial center of Kaberamaido District and is the location of the headquarters for the district.
Location
Kaberamaido is located approximately 163 kilometres (101 mi) by road, northeast of the city of Mbale in eastern Uganda.[1] The coordinates of the town are: Latitude: 1.7650 (1° 45' 54"N); Longitude: 33.1500 (33° 09' 00"E)
Population
In 2008, the population of Kaberamaido Municipality was estimated at 2,943 people, of whom 1,483 (50.4%) were males and 1,460 (49.6%) were females. The population of the municipality was 1.8% of the district population.[2] In 2010, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), estimated the population of the town at about 3,200.[3] In 2011, UBOS estimated the mid-year population of Kaberamaido at 3,400.[4]
