Kanalites (Medieval Greek: Καναλῖται, Serbian: Конављани/Konavljani) were a Serb tribe in what is now present-day Dalmatia who were under Roman dominion. No more is known about the Kanalites after the unification of Serbia. Porphyrogenitus said that the inhabitants of this area are descendants from the unbaptized Serbs, from the time of the Unknown Archon who came from White Serbia and claimed protection of the emperor Heraclius.[1]
