Karatagi is a town in Gangavathi of Koppal district in the state of Karnataka, India. Karatagi is one of the important commercial centre in Koppal district. Karatagi is famous for rice mills, and there are many in and around the city. There is a proposal for opening of an Integrated Rice Technology Park in the town.[1] The paddy fields around the city are irrigated by Tungabhadra canal.

Geography

Karatagi is located on the state highway 19. This town lies between Gangavathi and Sindhanur.

Transport

Karatagi town is well connected by road. There are buses to Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mantralayam
