Kathleen Crofton (born ?, died 1982) was an English dancer, dance director and dance teacher.
Life and career
Kathleen Crofton studied ballet with Olga Preobrajenska, and danced in Anna Pavlova's ballet company in the 1920s. She later taught for the Royal Ballet in London. When Alicia Markova became ballet master at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, she asked Crofton to become her assistant. Crofton relocated to New York, dancing as a soloist with the Markova-Dolin Company,[1] and later became Director of the Buffalo Ballet.[2] Crofton also directed the Festival Ballet of New York. She died in 1982.[3] Notable students include Roger Tully and Belinda Wright.
