The Kazyr River (Казыр) flows for 388 kilometres (241 mi) through the Irkutsk Oblast and Krasnoyarsk Krai of Russia before joining the Amyl River to form the Tuba River, a right tributary of the Yenisey. Its name translates from the Tuvan language as "savage". The river drains an area of 20,900 square kilometres (8,100 sq mi). It is covered by ice from late October to late April. The Kizir River is a major tributary.
