Kenan Pirić (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [kěnan pǐriːtɕ]; born 7 July 1994) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Slovenian PrvaLiga club Maribor and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Early career

Pirić began his career at hometown club Sloboda Tuzla,[2] but made his professional debut playing for Gradina in 2012. He was 18 years old at the time.[3] After Gradina got relegated, in the summer of 2013, he went on trial with Belgian club Gent and even signed a contract,[4] but never got first-team chance so he returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina the following July and signed with his boyhood club Sloboda Tuzla.[5]

In February 2017, Pirić signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Zrinjski Mostar on a free transfer.[6]

Maribor

On 11 December 2017, Slovenian side Maribor announced that Pirić would join them the following summer on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.[7] He made his competitive debut in a league game against Mura on 29 July, which ended in a goalless draw.[8]

International career

Pirić is a former Bosnia and Herzegovina under-21 international and also served as a captain of the team.[9]

He got first senior call-up for friendly games against Denmark and Japan in May 2016.[10] It took him over 18 months, until 31 January 2018, to make senior debut in a 0–1 loss against Mexico.[11]
