Kottaipattinam also kottaippattinam (Tamil:கோட்டைபட்டினம்) is a small town in the Pudukkottai District of Tamil Nadu, India. The town is about 70 km from Pudukkottai, located on the shore of the Bay of Bengal.


Muslims make up the religious majority, and are estimated to be 75% of the population. Non-Muslims mostly belongs to fisherman community. Kottaipattinam is the most Muslim-populated area in the Pudukkottai district.

Most of the people are working in GCC Countries and doing groceries and steamer business.

Kottaipattinam is a Gram panchayat in Pudukkottai District and developing as Township.

History: Earlier Thondaiman is ruled this district as Pudukkottai district.
