Kottigehara (Template:Lang-kn) is a village located in the foothills of Charmadi ghat in Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka state, India.

It is named after a very old cow shed ( Kottige means cow shed in Kannada ).It receives very heavy rain fall as it is situated near the western ghats.

Kottigehara is surrounded by many villages. Binnadi and athigere are among them. Take a road trip from dharmasthala to Kulluru u will find mind flowing scenery in the ghat. In kottigehara there is a small bus stand.
