Lake Lucasis a natural freshwater lake located just to the north of Sebring, Florida. The lake's perimeter is very swampy and it is somewhat swamplike over its entire surface. Lake Lucas has a 9.4-acre (38,000 m2) surface area. The lake is bordered on the north by Maranatha Village, to the east by a swampy area, to the southeast by Lakeside Cemetery, by a residential area to the south and west, and by pastureland to the northwest. The residential area to the west and south is a bit dilapidated. A user note in the GoingOutside.Com website says that area is a high-crime area and should be avoided. The user who wrote the post recommends visiting the lake from Maranatha Village.[1]

There are no boat ramps on Lake Lucas and given its swampy nature, probably only airboats could navigate on the lake's surface. There are no swimming areas. Fishing can be done on the lake, although if anyone wanted to reach it from Maranatha Village, they would need to obtain permission to enter Village property. The HookandBullet.Com website says the lake contains bullhead, sturgeon and crappie.[2]
