Legends and History

Lord Hanuman is considered to be the manifestation of Lord Shiva. He is personification of dedication and devotion. His power is incomparable and he is also measured as a great intellectual. Sri Hanuman is one of the most intimate devotee of Lord Ramachandra. He is the son of Vayu with a monkey like form. He is bestowed with many extraordinary qualities which He uses in service of Sri Rama and Sita. He is an emblem of pure devotional service.[2][better source needed] As mentioned in the scripture Ramayana, his most outstanding service to Lord Rama was by helping to build an army to bring back Lord Rama’s wife Srimati Sita, who was kidnapped by the demon King Ravana and forcibly taken to his kingdom Lanka.
