History

In 2011, nurses at Largo Medical Center protested, with concerns regarding adequate staffing.[5] Following the prior nurses' protest, which took place one year prior, the hospital became associated with the National Nurses Organizing Committee.[5] The nurses at Largo Medical Center and other nearby hospitals, a total of 3,100 nurses, joined a nurses' union in 2012.[6]

In 2012, a new chief executive officer was appointed, as Tony Degina replaced Ricky Satcher.[7]
