Laurie Gelman, née Hibberd (born April 4, 1964) is a Canadian television personality and writer,[1] originally from Ottawa, Ontario. She is married to television producer Michael Gelman; they have two children.[1] In 2007 she worked on two Canadian-based talk shows, The Mom Show and Doctor in the House.[2]

Hibberd began her broadcasting career as a traffic reporter, news writer, entertainment reporter and host on CKFM in Toronto from 1987 through 1992. [citation needed] In the late 1980s and early 1990s, she also served as a host on YTV for YTV Rocks and Rock'n'Talk.[1] She later became an entertainment reporter for WSVN-TV in Miami from 1992 to1994. She appeared on Good Morning America and Good Morning America Sunday.[3] Before that, she co-hosted the FX cable network's morning show, Breakfast Time, with Tom Bergeron, from 1994 to 1996.

Hibberd graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto and graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

She published the comic novel Class Mom in 2017.[4] The book was a shortlisted finalist for the 2018 Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour.[5]
