Leppings Lane is a tram stop on the South Yorkshire Supertram network.[1] It serves the surrounding areas of Wadsley, Wisewood, and Hillsborough around 3.4 km (2.1 mi) from the edge of Sheffield city centre. It is the last intermediate station on the Middlewood branch, opened on 23 October 1995.[2] It is located on the A6102 road (Middlewood Road).

History

[edit]

This stop was opened along with the section between Shalesmoor and Middlewood in October 1995.[3] A spur to Malin Bridge from Hillsborough was also opened at the same time.[3] These were the final street-running tram lines to be opened on the Supertram network, and the network wouldn't be expanded again until 2018.

As of 2024, services run between Middlewood and Meadowhall Interchange every 12 minutes (at peak times).
