Linus Shashipapo Secondary School, founded 1974, is the oldest school in the former Kavango Region of Namibia.[1] It is named after Linus Shashipapo, Hompa (king) of the Gciriku from 1945 to 1984.[2] Notable alumni of the school are John Mutorwa, Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry, Elijah Ngurare, Secretary of the SWAPO Party Youth League.[1] Samuel Mbambo, Governor of Kavango East Region, Marius Kudumo, and Markus Kampungu, chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Namibia.
