The ship ran aground on the Scarweather Sands, in the Bristol Channel and was abandoned. She was subsequently taken in to Porthcawl, Glamorgan, repaired and returned to service.[1]
The ship parted her cables in the Isles of Scilly and collided with the brig Arthemise (France). The crew managed to get on board the Arthemise which was then ran ashore.[5]
While on her second voyage and bound from Liverpool for New Orleans, the 846 ton sailing ship struck rocks 1.5 miles (2.4 km) off Gweal. NNW force 8 to 9 winds drove her on to the northern end of Gweal, in the Isles of Scilly, pushing her bow on to land and forming a temporary bridge to the island. After twelve hours the crew of twenty-four managed to scramble ashore.[6]
