London Evening News
Appearance
The London Evening News was a newspaper that was first published on 14 August 1855.[1]
(Usually when people mention the London Evening News they are actually referring to The Evening News, that was published in London from 1881 to 1980 when it was incorporated into the Evening Standard. The last issue was published on Friday 31 October 1980.)
The title was briefly revived as a successful spoiler tactic by Associated Newspapers, then owners of all Evening Standard shares, against the London Daily News of Robert Maxwell which quickly closed, followed by its rival.[2]
