Lorena Ziraldo (born 1960 in Udine, Italy) is a Canadian artist.
Ziraldo grew up in Toronto and presently lives in Ottawa. She studied Art History at the University of Toronto and Fine Arts under Gerald Ferguson at NSCAD University, obtaining her BFA in 2000.[1][2] She works mainly in oil and employs bold colors in a loose, gestural style.[3][4]
Her paintings have been exhibited across Canada; receiving reviews such as "Queen of Colour" by art critic Elissa Barnard of The Chronicle Herald.[5][3] Ziraldo's 2014 solo exhibition "National Portrait Gallery" at Wallack's Galleries[6] called for the creation of a portrait gallery in the nation's capital.[7][8][9]
In 2012, Ziraldo was featured in a one-month residency at The Hotel California in San Francisco.[10]
