Lynn Archibald (September 27, 1944 – May 28, 1997) was the former men's basketball coach of the University of Utah from 1983-1989. Archibald led the Utes to a 98-86 (.532) record before being fired after the 1989 season. Prior to Utah, Archibald was the head coach at Idaho State University. After his career with Utah, Archibald became an assistant at Arizona State University from 1989-1994, when he left the program to become an assistant coach, and later, the director of basketball operations for Brigham Young University. Archibald died on May 28, 1997[1][dead link] after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 52.

His son Beau Archibald is also a basketball coach.[2]
