M. G. Muthu is the chairman and founder of the MGM Group of Companies.[1] He was born in Thisayanvilai (a small village) in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu to the Manuvelnadar family.[2] He started his career in 1952 working in the port of Chennai and went on to found the MGM Group of Companies with interests in logistics, hospitality and the popular MGM Dizzee World theme park in Chennai.[3] He has written an account of his life in a book titled Rags To Riches: Chevalier Seva Ratna Dr. M. G. Muthu: An Autobiography, published in 1999.[4]
