Professor Madhav Bhattarai (Template:Lang-ne) is an influential writer from Nepal and chairman of the committee of astrologers. He is an academic personality of Nepal. He obtained his PhD in Sanskrit literature, one of the ancient languages in the world, and has dedicated his life in writing books in Sanskrit and Nepali literature.

He also worked as a "Nayab Badaguruji", appointed by late king Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.

Dr. Mangal Raj Joshi died in Kathmandu on 2 March 2005. Since then, Prof. Dr. Madhav Bhattarai attending the office as a president of Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti.

Contributions: Founder of several academic organizations. He is also one of the founder members of Nepal Sikshya Campus (COLLEGE OF EDUCATION), Kathmandu. He also worked as a chief of Balmiki Campus located at Kathmandu.
