Maggie Steber is an American photographer and journalist who was a director of photography for the Miami Herald and is a contributor to many magazines among of which are Newsweek and New York Times Magazine. She is also a recipient of both Alicia Patterson Foundation grant and Medal of Honor for Distinguished Service to Journalism.[1] In 2007 she was a recipient of John S. and James L. Knight Foundation grant and worked at the Knight Center for the International Media at the University of Miami. A year later, she was invited as a guest speaker in Amsterdam and the same year received an invitation to the Pingyao Photo Festival. Two years, later she received an invitation from the World Press Photo Foundation.[2]
