The Maitri Bagh Zoo (mini zoo park) is located in the Bhilai, India. It Is the biggest zoo in the region. The zoo comprises 111 acres (44.94 ha) of park lands. It is run by the Public Sector Undertaking, Steel Authority of India Limited.

History

Maitri Bagh is a "Friendship Garden" established as symbol of India USSR friendship. It was developed and maintained by Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL.[2] It was established in the year 1972.[1]

Attractions

When the steel city men with their families take time off from the rigors of steel-making, Maitri Bagh offers a perfect setting for recreation. The country's biggest musical fountain adds to the beauty of Maitri Bagh that already boasts of well-laid lush lawns. Boating facilities in artificial lake, toy train and Pragati Minar offering a panoramic view of the steel plant and surroundings.

It is the biggest zoo in the region having major attractions like-
