María Lilja Þrastardóttir (born 1 September 1986) is an Icelandic journalist, author and an Icelandic women’s rights campaigner/activist. María is the founder of the Icelandic Slut Walk.[1] She's also the author of Iceland's bestseller book Ástarsögur íslenskra kvenna.[2] the book is based on true love stories from modern women.[3]

She is engaged to Orri Páll Dýrason, the drummer for Sigur Rós.[4] Together they have four children: Vaka, Dýri, Kría and Stormur.
