The public school is well-past its peak, and over the past couple years, it has experienced significant downturns. Not every part of the building has a roof, subjecting rooms to leakage from the ceiling. This ceiling water was proven to be contaminated with fecal matter. Some may argue that this a problem related to construction, but the "breezeway" has been susceptible to leaks on numerous occasions prior to any construction. Additionally, as of the week of October 25, there is no fully-functioning kitchen due to renovations. The renovations have also revealed lead-based paint, and many classrooms have been subjected to questionable paint fumes.

In 2010, the district failed to make AYP (adequate yearly progress) in the state-mandated PSSA tests [2], placing it into the "warning" category, alongside districts of lower-income areas.
