Martin Albert Frédéric Terrier (born 4 March 1997) is a French professional footballer who plays as second striker for Ligue 1 club Lyon.[2]
Club career
Early career
Born in Armentières in 1997, Terrier started his football career with SC Bailleul youth team. Terrier moved to Lille OSC in 2004.[3]
Lille
2016–17 season
In 2016, Terrier was called up for Lille first team. On 22 October 2016, he made his Ligue 1 debut against SC Bastia at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, replacing Yves Bissouma at the 84th minute.[4] On 14 December, Terrier played the full match in the round of 16 of the Coupe de la Ligue in a 3–1 away defeat against PSG.[5] On 7 January 2017, he scored his first professional goal in the 90th minute of a 4–1 home win in the round of 64 of Coupe de France, in a match against AS Excelsior.[6] On 29 April, he scored his first goal in Ligue 1, as a substitute, in the 75th minute of a 3–0 away win over Montpellier.[7]
2017–18 season: Loan to Strasbourg
On 18 August 2017, Terrier was signed by Ligue 1 side Strasbourg on a season-long loan deal. On 27 August, he made his debut in Ligue 1 for Strasbourg in a 2–0 away defeat against Guingamp, he played the full match.[8] On 30 September, Terrier scored his first goal for Strasbourg, as a substitute, in the 92nd minute of a 1–1 away draw against Dijon.[9] On 25 October, Terrier played in the round of 32 of the Coupe de la Ligue as a substitute replacing Stephane Bahoken in the 78th minute of a match won at penalty 5–4 against Saint-Etienne.[10] On 28 October, he scored his second goal in the 77th minute of a 2–2 home draw against Angers SCO.[11]
Lyon
Loan to Strasbourg
On 26 January 2018, Terrier was sold by Lille to Lyon for €11 million. Lyon loaned him straight back to Strasbourg so that he would finish his initial loan period.[12]
