Academic All-Big Ten (2014)

Maurice Hurst Jr. (born on May 9, 1995) is an American football player. He currently plays at the defensive tackle position for the 2015 Michigan Wolverines football team.[1]

Early years

Hurst grew up in Canton, Massachusetts where he was raised by his mother Nicole Page.[2] He is the son of former New England Patriot Maurice Hurst.[1] He graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts where he was a four-year starter for the football team.[3] Hurst was a two-time first-team all-state player in Massachusetts during the 2011 and 2012 seasons and participated in the 2013 Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.[4]

Michigan

In 2014, Hurst earned his first varsity letter after appearing in seven games and garnered Academic All-Big Ten recognition.[1] On October 15, 2015, the Maxwell Football Club added Hurst to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List.[5]
